Circle the Wagons

2010 release from the Norwegian Black Metal band.

Ludicra - Tenant

Ludicra

Tenant

The fourth album from the San Francisco Black Metal outfit.

The Tenant finds Ludicra at the height of their musical prowess.

Possibly their most Metal-sounding release yet (thanks in no small part to some infectious Metallica-esque dual guitar harmonics), the record also features a strong progressive edge reminiscent of 2006’s Fex Urbis Lex Orbis—not to mention a return of the raw, Punk-inflected Black Metal vibe with which the band first made their name.

It is bound to be one of the most memorable releases of the year.

Immolation - Majesty & Decay

Immolation

Majesty & Decay

IMMOLATION’s new album contains “10 songs [plus two intros] of the strongest material we have ever written,” the band said in a statement.

“The new material is more violent and aggressive, with fast sections that take us to a new level of speed and intensity, while complementing the dark and sullen heavier moments. There are plenty of miserable and militant movements to please the diehard and new IMMOLATION fans alike.”

Airbourne - No Guts No Glory

Airbourne

No Guts No Glory

NO GUTS. NO GLORY. cranks out all cylinders firing and makes you want to chug a beer straight down your throat and punch the air as though it’d touched your wife inappropriately.

Inspired by the likes of Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, Angel City, Rose Tattoo, AC/DC and Motorhead, Airbourne have been waving the rock and roll flag for Australia since 2003, and in the process, winning fans and awards, like the one they took home in 2008 from the Metal Hammer Golden Gods, where the band’s album Runnin’ Wild was named the year’s Best Debut Album.

Recorded in 1973 and originally released on the Bronze label, Proud Words On A Dusty Shelf featured Heep bassist Gary Thain and drummer Lee Kerslake.

The resulting album was equal to anything recorded by the Heep at their peak and features wonderful material such as ‘Cold Autumn Sunday’, ‘Black Hearted Lady’ and ‘Go Down’, along with a version of ‘Rain’ (also recorded by Uriah Heep).
