Moby Grape - Live

Moby Grape

Live

The first official collection of concert recordings by the legendary San Francisco band at its blazing late-Sixties peak!

Sundazed Music is proud to present a genuine psychedelic landmark: Live by Moby Grape, the first official collection of concert recordings by the legendary San Francisco band at its blazing late-Sixties peak.

Live is the long-awaited proof. It features more than an hour of dynamite performances from soundboard and broadcast tapes, including tracks from the Avalon Ballroom in 1967 and the band’s complete long-lost set at the Monterey Pop Festival, just a week after Moby Grape came out. There are live versions of the great rare Grape songs “Rounder” and “Looper” and five tracks from a famous Dutch radio show featuring the hard-charging ‘69 lineup of Miller, Mosley, Lewis and Stevenson.

And Live climaxes with the historic first-ever release of Spence’s acid-guitar masterpiece “Dark Magic”—never recorded in the studio by the original band but presented here in an epic 17-minute performance at the Avalon, on New Year’s Eve 1966.

These four-decade-old recordings have been spectacularly mastered, in you-are-there fidelity, and this album comes with sumptuous packaging and rare photos, in true Sundazed style, plus liner notes by Rolling Stone writer and Moby Grape authority David Fricke.

Hawkwind - At the BBC 1972

Hawkwind

At the BBC 1972

2010 two CD collection from the British Space Rock legends.

Whilst the bulk of this release is made up of a live set recorded for the BBC In Concert program, it opens with a previously unreleased session recorded for Johnnie Walker featuring a shortened version of the Doremi Fasol Latido album classic ‘Brainstorm’ and a version of the hit single ‘Silver Machine’, featuring Lemmy on vocals as per the single.

The In Concert itself, a hypnotic continuous performance, is presented in both mono and stereo versions. The mono version was previously released by Windsong on CD in 1991 and has been remastered and re-indexed to include all of the pieces originally performed, and the concert itself in its entirety.

The stereo version has long been in the domain of the bootleggers as an off-air recording known the as “Broadcast” version. This mix was in fact distributed by the BBC for broadcast internationally.

T.A.M.I. Show

It’s the greatest, grooviest, wildest, most exciting beat blast ever to pound the screen!

Filmed just eight months after The Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, THE T.A.M.I. SHOW introduced Rock ‘n’ Soul youth culture to America in the first concert movie of the Rock era.

One of the rarest and most sought-after performance films from its time, the 1964 concert event featured future Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famers The Rolling Stones, James Brown, Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson And The Miracles, The Supremes and many other American and British Invasion hitmakers in their prime.

This legendary film has never been available on DVD and hasn’t been seen in its entirety since it originally appeared in theaters in 1964.

Mastered from a new High Definition transfer and uncut, this complete version features the Beach Boys’ performances that were removed following the film’s initial theatrical run.

The show was filmed at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, October 29, 1964.

Mick Taylor Band - Tokyo Concert

Mick Taylor Band

Tokyo Concert

Unlike his ex- Rolling Stones buddies, Mick Taylor never associated fame with talent nor celebrity with artistic merit.

His aristocratic attitude and manners obscured the fact that he was the only authentic working class guitar hero of the bunch - largely responsible for the unmistakable Stones’ rugged musical elegance.

This is more obvious than ever in Taylor’s 2009 Tokyo concert. Superbly backed by Max Middleton, Jeff Allen, Kuma Harada and Denny Newman, Mick revisits in grand style his now classic repertoire as well as tunes of Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan and others.
