Deep Purple

BBC Sessions 1968-1970

UK 2 CD release.

The transition of Deep Purple from a cult UK band that had chart success stateside, to the rock giants we all know is captured in these fascinating session recordings.

Although the rarity of some of the sessions means the sound quality is often less than perfect, it is the stunning performances, many live-in studio, which shine through.

This was a band who could play and who could electrify the audience and the listener.

Many Purple aficionados would dare to suggest that the session version of the classic ‘Child In Time’ surpasses that of the studio version. That is, of course, is subjective but why this set is so important to the Purple story, to the band’s fans and any general rock fan.

The Rolling Stones

Some Girls Live In Texas

The Rolling Stones 1978 tour of the USA in support of that year’s Some Girls album is considered by fans to be one of their very best.

The tour followed immediately on the release of the Some Girls album and by the time the band arrived in Texas in mid-July the album had hit the #1 spot on the US charts.

Filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, on July 18th, 1978, this concert is typical of the tour with the Rolling Stones delivering a raw, energetic performance in front of a crowd who are clearly loving the show.

Originally shot on 16mm film, the footage has been carefully restored and the sound remixed and remastered by Bob Clearmountain from the original multitrack tapes.

Digitally remastered and expanded Deluxe two CD edition of this 1973 concept album by the British Rock icons.

This set gives a unique insight into the creation of this landmark album and features a remaster of the original double album, alongside eight of Pete Townshend’s previously unheard demos including songs that didn’t make it onto the original album.

Limited edition box set containing five CDs, a double vinyl LP pressing and two vinyl seven inch singles.

Digitally remastered and expanded edition of the legendary unreleased 1967 Beach Boys album, which was scheduled to be the ambitious follow-up to their Pet Sounds opus but was never completed.

Disc One contains the original album plus eight bonus tracks. Discs Two through Five contain a plethora of session outtakes, alternate versions and so much more.
