Expanding the ongoing influence of Nordic Folk, the album adds more traditional heavy metal, signature Burzum composition, but with a keener emphasis on vocal delivery (again presented in Vikernes native tongue).

Digitally remastered two-fer. From 1970 and 1971 come Sugarloaf’s two albums for Liberty Records.

Both albums made the US Top 200 but ‘Green-Eyed Lady’ from Sugarloaf was a huge Top 3 single. The band had another hit with ‘Don’t Call Us’ in 1975 before splitting up later in the decade.

Phil Shaffart was not hired by Conor Oberst to make the film One Of My Kind. He was hired to make sure the guitars stayed in tune.

But Phil had a video camera with him as the Mystic Valley Band came together for the first time at Valle Mistico in Tepoztlan, Mexico in January of 2008 and so he started filming what he sensed was something special.

“When I started filming, none of us had the intentions of turning what was being shot into a film,” says Phil, “but the things we were seeing, feeling and capturing with the music proved to be inspiring in ways we were not prepared for.”

The Only Place

Bethany Cosentino aka Best Coast is prepped to return with another album of melodic beach punk with second album The Only Place.

The pre-released title track and first single, a jangly ode to California as a place that has “the ocean, the babes, the sun, the waves,” asks the question “Why would you live anywhere else?” If its fuzz bass and slightly ‘90s alt-rock underpinnings are any indicator of the rest of the album, The Only Place will be a catchy hook-fest.

Live at the National Stadium Dublin

This DVD is a treasure trove for Thin Lizzy fans, compiled from content from broadcaster RTE in the band’s native Ireland which has never before been released on home video.

On Stage At The National Stadium Dublin is described as the “Holy Grail” for Thin Lizzy fans, capturing the band at their very best in front of an adoring home crowd in Dublin.

After various changes in the preceding years the classic four piece line-up was finally in place. This is the only live footage of many of the classics from the Fighting era.
