Provocative it may have been, but the description made sense: at the heart of all that ruckus was a band at once defying and embracing the musical legacy of its hometown.

Since then, Lambchop has evolved into an accomplished ensemble, adding palpable depth and substance to singer-songwriter-guitarist Kurt Wagner’s songs - and the band sounds as commanding as ever on its 11th album, ‘Mr. M’, a collection of meditations on love and loss and the detritus of everyday existence.

Patience (After Sebald)

Patience (After Sebald) is a multi-layered film essay on landscape, art, history, life and loss by the acclaimed documentary film-maker Grant Gee.

It is an exploration of the work and influence of German writer W.G. Sebald (1944-2001), told via a long walk through coastal East Anglia tracking his most famous book The Rings Of Saturn (1995).

The book mixes history, travelogue, memoir, meditation, fiction and images to explore the personal, public and often overlooked histories of Suffolk.

In 2009, Grant approached The Caretaker to work on a soundtrack for this work and he sourced out-of-copyright Franz Schubert works from 1927 including the famous work “Winterreise.”

The soundtrack has been pieced together using snippets and fragments of this source material. The CD album artwork features another specially-commissioned painting by Ivan Seal, and comes in a gatefold digifile sleeve.

2012 album from Ministry founder Al Jourgensen under the guise of his Country doppelganger, Buck Satan. Joining Jourgensen are The 666 Shooters, AKA Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick), Tony Campos (Static-X) and Mike Scaccia (Rigor Mortis/Ministry).

Also features other guest artists from the Metal and Rock world as well as Country artists, fiddlers, cellists, pedal steel guitars, mandolins, banjos etc. Jourgensen digs deep into the vaults of his extensive knowledge of both kinds of music (Country & Western!) for inspiration to accomplish this provocative and melodically gorgeous array of original tracks and Gram Parsons/The Byrds, The Grateful Dead and Heartsfield covers
