Joe Henry
Reverie
Reverie came to fruition when Joe Henry and his fellow musicians convened in Henry s basement studio for three days of exploration. The result is an all acoustic album more full of life from the birds chirping through the open windows to the ticking and shifting of the musicians than any Henry has recorded.

An Appointment With Mr Yeats

Ryan Adams
Ashes and Fire
The album was recorded at Sunset Sound Factory in Hollywood and produced by Glyn Johns, renowned for his work with the likes of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Clash, The Who and The Rolling Stones—and whose son Ethan produced previous Ryan Adams albums Heartbreaker, Gold and 29.
From the slow burning stunner of opener “Dirty Rain” through the infectious shuffle of the title track and irresistible harmonies of “Lucky Now,” to the closing lament of “I Love You But I Don’t Know What To Say,” Ashes & Fire is arguably the most cohesive and beautiful album of Adams’ distinguished career.

Peter Gabriel
New Blood
Limited deluxe two CD edition includes bonus CD containing instrumental versions of the album’s tracks.
New Blood is a continuum of Peter’s previous Scratch My Back album - the song-swap project where he covered the songs of others, all to an orchestral backing. Thanks to the precise arrangements by John Metcalf and Peter, the treatment was so successful that Peter very quickly knew where he wanted to take it next, and work began to apply the same principals to his own songs.
“The orchestra provides different dimensions to the music that weren’t there initially,” confirms Peter. “Rock artists work slowly in studios, building up layer by layer, and one of the great, powerful advantages of an orchestra is all these musicians playing at one moment with all sorts of colors and personalities.” And in front of orchestra, taking centre stage when necessary, retreating into the shadows when not, is Peter’s rich voice.
Retaining its trademark emotive power, it returns to lyrics written 20 or 30 years ago, reinvesting them with new meaning and heightened poignancy. New life, new blood. A musical transfusion. The songs live on.

John Scofield
Moment’s Peace
On his previous disc, Piety Street, it was grooving gospel. A Moment’s Peace showcases the guitarist’s softer side.
It’s a collection of ballads comprised of original material (“Already September” and “Simply Put”) to jazz standards (“I Loves You Porgy” and “You Don’t Know What Love Is”), each played with his signature phrasing and woven through with elements of soul-jazz, post-bop, subtle funk, and even country, despite the laid-back feel. Scofield’s sidemen this time out include drummer Brian Blade, organist Larry Goldings, and bassist Scott Colley.
